(a) time-resolved SPC MPM image of an unstained thin section of formalin-fixed normal human skin acquired with the FLAME system; (b) Histological image obtained by Fontana-Masson staining of a human skin section from the same sample and adjacent to the one shown in (a). The images show that the fluorescence signal in the corrected-red channel of the MPM image (a) is co-localized with the Fontana-Masson melanin-specific stain (black) in the histological image (b).
