Summary diagram of measurement visits and atropine administration. Visits were in pairs, at the same time of day on successive days. The sign of defocus presented on the first day of a pair was randomly assigned and the sign of defocus presented on the second day was the opposite of the previous day (e.g. if a participant received myopic defocus at visit 1, then hyperopic defocus was presented at visit 2).
