(B) On T2WI image, paravertebral abscess extending into the spinal canal and compressing the thoracic spinal cord could be found (long arrow). (C) The abscess wall was markedly enhanced on post-contrast T1WI sequence (long arrow). (D) On axial CT image, the osteolysis and expansion of the left first rib and vertebral plate were found (long arrow). (E,F) A 2-year-old boy with fungi infection. On CT images, osteomyelitis of the left 2nd rib and surrounding soft tissue swelling were showed (long arrow). The adjacent lung infection and pleural thickening were also noticed.
