For reference to Fig. 1b, NAR is the Narrows Bridge. Fresh water (< 5 ppt) is represented as brown colors while marine water (> 25 ppt) is blue or green. Note that the surface water (up to 5 m depth) is predominantly fresh through the system from 3rd Aug. through 29th Sept. 2009.
