From: Intraocular toxicity caused by MEROCTANE perfluorocarbon liquid
Cytotoxicity evaluation of MEROCTANE batches OCT 722011 and OCT.01.2013. Samples with ≤ 70% viability were considered cytotoxic (ISO 10993-5:2009). PFO batch OCT 722011 was distributed and used in Spain, no acute toxic cases were reported. PFO batch OCT.01.2013 was distributed in Chile causing acute toxicity in patients.
