From: Association of nocebo hyperalgesia and basic somatosensory characteristics in a large cohort
Pain stimulation during one experimental trial. Every experimental trial started with an anticipation phase of 20 s during which participants saw a white fixation cross. Afterwards, a red fixation cross appeared indicating the pain stimulation. The red fixation cross was shown for 15 s, while the actual pain stimulation lasted for 10 s. The pain stimulation was followed by the VAS pain rating.
