  1. In this table, we calculated all p-values using the Pearson Chi square for categorical data, and independent samples t-test or Mann–Whitney U-test where appropriate for continuous variables depending on the normality of the distribution. There are no significant differences demonstrated between the groups in any of the variables listed. Cases and controls are well matched with little variance between the key matching variables, infant sex, gestational age and birthweight. Data are presented as either the mean (SD) with continuous variables or n (percentage) with categorical ones.
