From: Photosensitization of a subcutaneous tumour by the natural anthraquinone parietin and blue light
Delayed tumour growth after PTN-PDT. A DMSO lotion containing 1.96 mg of PTN was applied on the skin over the tumour and after 2 h the area was illuminated. This PTN-PDT treatment was repeated on days 1 and 3 of the experiment (arrows). Controls received vehicle treatment. Illumination and PTN-treated controls were also included. Tumour volume was followed by caliper measurement. *p < 0.05 control vs. PTN- PDT, two-way ANOVA, followed by Sidak's multiple comparisons test.
