Statistical analysis of symmetric Kullback–Leibler distances between segments. The values \({\mathscr {D}}_{\mathrm {KLS}}\) are obtained from Eq. (2) for all the segment pairs \(i,j=1,\ldots ,214\). We present the probability density \(\rho ({\mathscr {D}}_{\mathrm {KLS}})\) obtained with bin counts in intervals with \(\Delta {\mathscr {D}}_{\mathrm {KLS}}=0.05\), the inset shows the matrix representation with entries \({\mathscr {D}}_{\mathrm {KLS}}(i,j)\) codified in the color bar. All figures were created using python 3.8 and the matplotlib (3.4.3) package (https://matplotlib.org).
