From: Thermoelectricity of near-resonant tunnel junctions and their relation to Carnot efficiency
Scheme of the squeezable nanojunction (SNJ). Two SiC chips with electrodes are placed in a sandwich configuration. The ultra-stable distance between the electrodes is adjusted via a piezo-spring mechanism15. Chip temperatures \(T_H\) and \(T_C\) are monitored via on-chip resistance thermometry.
