HIV induced cytokine gene expression by airway BC. BC were exposed to HIV or heat-inactivated HIV for 2 days. TaqMan quantitative PCR analysis was performed to assess cytokine gene expression shown in (A), IL-1β. (B), IL-8; (C), ICAM-1; and (D), GM-CSF. The data were normalized to 18s RNA. Results shown are the data from three independent experiments.
