Oxidised epithelial cell lipids inhibit macrophage phagocytic function. MDM were exposed to media with or without cigarette smoke extract (CSE), with varying concentrations of CS-oxidised epithelial lipid (6.25–100 µg/mL) for 24 h, and phagocytosis was measured by flow cytometry. p values vs control provided from Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. n = 10.
