The morphology of the X chromosome differs among the Raphicerus species. All three show the presence of the so-called “acrocentric caprine X” (also referred to as the Suni type) with sequences orthologous to BTA Xp transposed approximately two thirds down the length of the euchromatic X chromosome43.
