Colicins/pyocins and their cognate immunity proteins can be classified into four families based on structural similarity. Structures of different colicin/pyocin–immunity protein complexes (with representative PDB IDs), shown as ribbon diagrams (colored in shades of red and blue, respectively), can be divided into four families based on structure alignment.
