Western blot analysis of non-amplified brain samples. A panel of 14 brain samples (#1–#14) from patients with sCJD was obtained from the French CJD National Surveillance Network. #15 corresponds to vCJD reference brain sample provided by the NIBSC. The PrPTSE signal was assessed by means of western blot analysis using 3F4 antibody after proteinase K digestion. For each sample, the equivalent of 20 µL of 0.1% (w/v) brain homogenate was loaded onto the gel.
