Conceptual diagram of proposed multi-seasonal low-t dolomite formation. Shifting environmental conditions cycle between higher and lower temperature and salinity. This results in the cycling of a growing and decaying microbial mat with low-t dolomite formation facilitated during the transition between growing and decaying conditions.
