Simulated spectral responsivity (see Eq. 2 in the methods chapter) as a function of the diameter dNP of the NP-PD without metallization (Fig. 1c, d). The lines show the results obtained from solving Eq. 1. The illumination was chosen to be (a) parallel (E0‖n, k0⟂n) and (b) normal (E0⟂n, k0‖n) to the substrate plane (n is the normal vector of the substrate).
