Characteristics of liver injury in mice fed with regular diet (RD) or high-fat diet (HFD) with or without Lactobacillus acidophilus LA5 (LA5) as determined by alanine transaminase (ALT) (A), liver weight (B), histological liver injury score (C), lipid components in the liver including triglyceride, total cholesterol (D,E), oxidative stress (malondialdehyde; MDA) in the liver (F), an anti-oxidant molecule (glutathione) in the liver (G) and the representative pictures of liver histology (H) were demonstrated (n = 6–8/group for AG). Severe lipid accumulation (steatohepatitis) was indicated in HFD mice.
