Photoinduced antibacterial activity of the polystyrene NPs (1.5 × 1012 NPs/ml) at different dose of irradiation. NPs dispersions (3 × 1012 NPs/ml) were mixed 1:1 with a dispersion of MRSA-S. aureus (A), ESBL-K. pneumoniae (B), E. faecalis (C) and P. aeruginosa (D). The results show the estimated average logarithm of the colony forming units per ml (log CFU/ml) observed on the agar plates for the irradiated and non-irradiated samples from 3 independent tests at room temperature.
