Two different methods to damage BiLex’s maps in order to simulate stroke damage. Black pixels represent SOM neurons that are removed (along with their associative connections) and white ones those that remain intact. Moving left to right, the amount of damage increases from almost zero to nearly total; adjusting the damage in this way, impairment in real patients can be matched.
