Vectors indicate direction and strength of relationships of specific PLFA groups and environmental variables (not included in matrix distance calculations). G+ and G− represent absolute Gram positive and and Gram negative biomarker abundance, respectively. Relative abundance G+ and G− biomarkers are shown as mol%. TOC = total organic carbon and TC = total carbon. The full list of soil parameters analyzed and specific PLFA biomarkers by treatment and slope are provided in Tables S2 and S3, respectively.
