From: Cartilage structure increases swimming efficiency of underwater robots
Robot fabrication process based on molding. The mold is made of multiple acrylic parts: (a) Ecoflex 00-20 is casted on a mold and cured in an oven; (b) servomotors are placed inside the mold; (c) cartilages made of Sylgard 184 are placed above the servomotors (cartilages are fabricated separately in another mold); (d) mold is filled with Ecoflex 00-20.
