(A) The viral load emitted by a potential transmitter (VT) can be filtered, resulting in lower exposure viral loads due to a single mask worn by a transmitter or exposed individual with efficacy εT or εE respectively. Dual masking lowers exposure viral load further by filtering virus twice. (B) Dual masking may prevent super-spreader events to a greater extent than a masked transmitter or masked exposed individual.
