From: Measuring the structure and equation of state of polyethylene terephthalate at megabar pressures
Experimental setup for the XRD measurements. A PET foil was shock-compressed using a 6 ns (FWHM) optical laser pulse. Structural changes were probed by the 8.1 keV LCLS X-ray beam via in situ XRD. The resulting diffraction image has been recorded using a single-photon-sensitive area detector.
