Gene expression of pro- and anti-inflammatory markers. Relative gene expression levels of the proinflammatory markers tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α, A and B) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS, C and D) and the anti-inflammatory marker genes CD206 (E and F) and arginase 1 (Arg1, G and H) were determined by RT-PCR in LPS (1000 ng/mL, open circle and dashed line)- or IL4 (60 ng/mL, closed circle and solid line)-stimulated BV-2 and MG5 cells. The results are presented as the fold change in expression relative to the control group (0 h stimulation) and the means ± SDs of three samples. Statistical differences were analyzed by ANOVA followed by Dunnett's multiple comparison test; *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01 compared with the control.
