Model predictions of the NSBAOD = 0/NSBAOD = 0.3 ratio for point light sources at the indicated distances. The other model input parameters (α = − 1.3, ASY = 0.6, SSA = 0.95 and ASH = 2.2 km) were the same among all four models. These plots match the orientation of those shown in the leftmost column of Fig. 2, but the scales are different in each panel. To emphasize the details in each case, we have scaled them differently in order to adapt the dynamic range of the NSB ratios shown.
