Scatter plot of AFC against FSLE (left panel) and SST gradient (right panel) for all the points sampled (thus not filtered based on chlorophyll). The lines, from the bottom to the top, indicate the linear quantile regressions at 75th, 90th, 95th and 99th percentiles. The analysis is used to investigate the relationship between the front intensity and just the higher values of fish concentration. Both axes are in logarithmic scale (values equal to zero are therefore not depicted). Values of the quantile regression coefficients are reported in Table S1.
