Stability of gliotoxin in agricultural soil. (A) Gliotoxin was added to sterilized and unsterilized acidic sandy loam soil (pH 5.4) and alkaline sand loam soil (pH 7.4) @ 250 µg/g of soil and incubated at 30 °C for 10 days. Soil samples were taken at 0, 1, 3, 5 and 10 days after incubation and levels of gliotoxin was analysed as explained in Fig. 2A. GT gliotoxin, Std standard gliotoxin. (B) Stability of gliotoxin was semi-quantitatively measured by densitometry analysis. Blue band intensity and density was measured using Gel Quant NET software and concentration was calculated using standard curve as explained in “Methods”.
