Propagation and polarization directions of the incident (Ei) and reflected (Er) THz waves. Ep and Es denote the directions of the p- and s-polarizations corresponding to 0° and 90°, respectively. Ei is linearly polarized at − 45°. Upon reflection, Er becomes elliptically polarized owing to the difference in the p- and s- reflection coefficients.
