Photomicrographs of primary bovine mammary epithelial cells (pBMEC) on collagen gel cultures. Following a 24-h exposure to 0, 50, 200 or 500 μM dose of 5-Hydroxy-L-tryptophan (5-HTP) at either thermoneutral (37 °C, TN) or heat shock (41.5 °C, HS) with 5% CO2 culture condition. Photomicrographs were taken to visualize and quantify branch number and morphology (i.e., branch diameter and length). Scale bar indicates 100 μm.
