Experimental setup. Foreground shows the devices that are used to record the BFT signal. The BFT cable from the patient is connected to the strain gauge amplifier input. The strain gauge amplifier output is connected to the DAQ which is connected to a laptop via a USB connection. Data collection is performed using LabVIEW. The nerve stimulator and electrodes are connected to an intraoperative neuromonitoring instrument (Cadwell Cascade Pro, Cadwell, Kennewick, WA). Details of EMG electrode placement are described in step 16 and Fig. 10.
