The possible onset time(s) of the next stimulus in the sequence are indicated by a grey shaded line at 300 ms in (A) and a grey shaded area between 200 and 400 ms in (B). (C) shows the effect of attention on stimulus coding, calculated as the difference in decoding accuracy for the cued and uncued conditions, for the constant ISI condition (yellow) and the varied ISI condition (red). We observed an effect of attention for both timing conditions, starting at 248 ms after stimulus onset for the constant ISI condition, and at 232 ms after stimulus onset for the varied ISI condition. We directly compared the effect of attention for the 2 different ISI conditions and found no 2 consecutive time-points with BF10 > 10. Plotting conventions are the same as in Fig. 2.
