Immunocytochemical validation of heart ECs, PCs, and VSMCs. (A) Immunolabeling of ECs (first column), PCs (middle column) and VSMCs (last column) with antibodies against typical cell markers: CD31, PDGFR-β, vWF, 3G5 ganglioside, NG2, SMA and calponin, all in red. Cells are counterstained with Hoechst 33342 (blue). Cells were also immunolabeled with anti-CD90, present in fibroblasts, but not in EC, PC, or VSMC cultures. Scale bar, 20 µm.
