MS/MS spectra of singly protonated p-TEMPO–Bn–Sc–angiotensin II (DRVYIHPF) at different normalized collision energies (NCEs, a.u.): (a) 20, (b) 22, (c) 23.9 and (d) 27. In the mass spectra, the subscript ‘R’ indicates that the p-TEMPO–Bn–Sc– group was conjugated to the N-terminal primary amine of peptides, and the subscript ‘r’, e.g., [rM + H]+, denotes the •Bn–Sc– group, which was formed by the homolytic cleavage of the C–O bond between the benzyl carbon and the oxygen of the TEMPO group.
