  1. Five species are recorded based on literature: M. herbarum and M. meridionalis23, M. subviridescens(53 and NBN Atlas online records from herbarium E), M. viridileprosa45 and M. xanthonica50. Many Micarea species produce mesopycnidia that are immersed between goniocysts and may therefore be rarely visible.
