From: Tubulin expression and modification in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF)
Protein expression of α-tubulin (A/B), ratios of detyrosinated tubulin/α-tubulin (dtyrT/α-tubulin) (C/D), tyrosinated tubulin/α-tubulin (tyrTub/α-tubulin) (E/F) and enzymes involved in tubulin detyrosination cycle namely tubulin carboxypeptidase vasohibin 1 (VASH1) (G/H) and tubulin tyrosin ligase (TTL) (I/J) measured in left ventricle tissue of O-ZSF1 and L-ZSF1 rats at an age of 20 weeks (A/C/E/G/I) and 32 weeks (B/D/F/H/J). Y-axis shows arbitrary units of protein expression normalised to GAPDH (for α-tubulin, detyrosinated and tyrosinated α-tubulin) or Histone H2B (for VASH1 and TTL). Further, measurements were normalised to the mean signal of all L-ZSF1 rats. Scatter plots represent the median, 25th and 75th percentiles. p-values were calculated using Student’s t-test (for normal distribution) and non-parametric Mann–Whitney-U-test.
