(A) Enclosure set-up, in daylight and at nighttime. Eight enclosures arranged side by side in a row were built to house spiny mice under semi-natural conditions. Hollow cement blocks were used as shelters for both species. From right to left: enclosures in day light, enclosures at night with blue, yellow and white light. Control enclosures remained dark. (B) Light treatment illuminance and (C) spectral distribution.
