Effect of DCA treatment and experimental DM conditions on the mitochondrial membrane potential in the rat heart. Mitochondrial membrane potential was determined using the fluorescent probe JC-1 and expressed as the ratio of J-aggregates and monomers. The ratio of J-aggregates and monomers in the DCA group and DM group was significantly reduced compared with that in the Control group.
