Plot of ln(kexo, /s) predicted by U937 and Hela models (Fig. 2) vs. experimental ln(kexo, /s): six ln(kexo, /s) based on experimental exocytosis curves of charged NPs were denoted as ‘green circle or blue circle’ (three are cationic and three are anionic44) for U937 cells and 14 ln(kexo, /s) of neutral NPs28,43 based solely on initial and final intracellular NP concentrations for Hela cells were denoted as ‘red circle’. The 95% confidence intervals for the predicted results are also represented by different bars.
