  1. The organisms were inoculated into Mueller Hinton cation adjusted broth and incubated at 37 °C in SLIC for up to 5 h. Note that these data were also fitted to the Gompertz equation (Eq. 1) but the Broken Stick equation gave better fittings, as determined by lower values for the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC).
