Biofilm formation on titanium (Ti). Each microorganism was cultured on a Ti plate for 72 h. Then the supernatants and Ti plates were collected separately. (a) The Ti plates were stained with CV, and their absorbance was quantified at 550 nm to detect biofilm formation on the surface. (b) The OD of non-adherent planktonic cell-containing supernatants was measured at 600 nm. (c) The OD values obtained from the CV assay for biofilm formation were divided by the sum of OD values from the CV assay for biofilm formation on the surface and from planktonic cell-containing supernatant to calculate the ratio of biofilm formation.
