Left plot: A comparison of CO2 concentration profiles at the well location (r = 0) as a function of depth after 100 years of injection for three temperature gradients of 18, 30 (reference case) and 50 °C/km. The water to CO2 injection mass ratio is 25:1 for the 18, and 30 °C/km gradient, and 26:1 for the 50 °C/km gradient. Center and right plots: 2D cross-sections for the water density and the gas saturation, which is the mass fraction of exsolved CO2 in the pore fluids, for the three temperature gradients after 50 and 100 years of carbonated water injection.
