Competition of zinc transport with a series of divalent cations. To exam which divalent cations inhibit hZIP4-meidated Zn2+ transport. HEK293 cells expressing hZIP4 (A) or truncated hZIP4 (B) were pre-incubated in 600 µM ZnCl2 (control), FeCl2, NiCl2, MgCl2, MnCl2, CaCl2, BaCl2 or CoCl2 complemented media, separately. The transport was initiated by adding 5 µM Zn2+. * Statistically significant, t-test p value < 0.05 (n = 3).
