The sex determining region (10.4 Mb) of X. tropicalis is estimated to lie at the terminal tip of sex chromosome 7 (Furman et al.31), indicated by a red bar, and two genes (Cyp17 and Got1) are located next to it. Likewise, chromosome 8, 9 and ZW sex chromosome 7 of Glandirana rugosa, Rana temporaria and Buergeria buergeri, respectively, share the two or one genes, and are located within the non-recombining region in B. buerugeri, indicated by a dark blue bar. The six and 14 sex-linked genes identified in cluster 1 and cluster 2 of P. ornatum, respectively, are shared with chromosome 10 (two with chromosome 8) of Rana temporaria or sex chromosome 7 of X. tropicalis.
