Two of the five IPCC scenarios reported here: SSP1-2.6 (sustainability) and SSP5-8.5 (fossil-fueled development) correspond, respectively, to a pervasive, world-wide curbing of GHG emission, and to continuing world-wide economic growth driven by an ever-increasing consumption of fossil fuels. (*) Individual CMIP6 models show a substantial and conflicting variability in precipitation change estimates.
