Surface SEM images of LIPSS formed using (a) Ti:Sapphire laser and (b) MIR-FEL. LIPSSs were formed perpendicular in the case of Ti:Sapphire laser and parallel in the case of MIR-FEL to the direction of the laser polarization, which is represented as E in the figure. The periods of the LIPSS were approximately 582.5 ± 35 nm and 1.09 ± 0.35 μm, respectively.
