The enzymatic activities of G6PDH (panel A) and 6PGDH (panel B) are affected by AAPH-derived ROO. Solutions of G6PDH (54 μM monomer) or 6PGDH (58 μM monomer) were incubated at 37ºC in phosphate buffer 75 mM, pH 7.4, in the absence (white bars) and presence of 10 (blue bars) or 100 (orange bars) mM AAPH. At defined times, aliquots were taken, the AAPH removed, and the enzymatic activity assessed by following NADPH release at 340 nm, as described in the Materials and methods. The data presented are means ± standard deviations of at least three independent experiments, each measured in triplicate. Statistical differences are indicated as follows: * p < 0.05, ** p < 0.01, and **** p < 0.0001.
