Gene organization of the pmlR1 and PmlR2 genomic regions. P6650 is a light-inducible promoter analyzed in this study. The homologous genes with known functions include phrB, a deoxyribodipyrimidine photo-lyase; PME6630, a short-chain dehydrogenase; PME6625, a FAD-dependent oxidoreductase; ufaM, a furan-containing fatty acid synthase; cryB, a cryptochrome/photolyase family protein; folX, a dihydroneopterin triphosphate 2′-epimerase; folE, a GTP cyclohydrolase I; and folM, a dihydromonapterin reductase. Other ORFs encode proteins without annotated/known function.
