The white circles indicate the unmasked control (CON) condition. There were no significant main effects of the mask factor on either RPE (P = 0.09, ηp2 = 0.25) or dyspnea (P = 0.20, ηp2 = 0.15). RPE and dyspnea tended to be higher in the FM condition than in the Unmask condition, but the differences were not significant (P = 0.14, ηp2 = 0.19, P = 0.06, ηp2 = 0.30).
