Effect of monocarboxylate transporters (MCT) blockade on short-chain fatty acids activity in primary microglia after LPS stimulation. Cells were pre-treated with SCFA mix (0 or 100 µM) for 4 h, and then stimulated with LPS (1 ng/mL) for 4 h. Samples were analyzed 2-way ANOVA (2 × 2 factorial arrangement of MCT inhibitor x SCFA mix), followed by Tukey's multiple comparisons test. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001, and ****P < 0.0001.
